John is a Principal and Senior Mechanical Engineer with more than 45 years of consulting engineering experience and over 30 years of leadership at Sage Engineering Associates, LLP. He has played a key role in the firm’s growth and long-term client relationships, serving as a senior technical advisor and program manager for major institutional clients. His expertise includes HVAC systems, central utility plants, building controls, plumbing and fire protection systems, laboratories, and energy infrastructure. John leads proposal development, project scoping, contract administration, and technical review for large engineering service contracts while providing guidance and oversight to project teams throughout design and construction.

NYS Office of General Services – Design & Construction Term Contracts
Program Manager and primary client interface for Sage Engineering’s NYS OGS mechanical engineering term contracts, with individual contract values ranging from $3 million to $8.5 million. Provides senior-level management and technical oversight for engineering services supporting correctional facilities, laboratories, office buildings, and central utility plants throughout New York State. Responsibilities include proposal development, scope definition, subconsultant coordination, contract administration, resource planning, project staffing, client coordination, and quality oversight. Leads project scoping and execution planning while providing senior mechanical engineering guidance to support successful delivery of multi-discipline public-sector projects.
Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory – Engineering Services Contracts
Program Manager and primary client representative for multiple engineering services contracts supporting KAPL facilities. Managed successive five-year engineering services contracts since 2011 with a combined value of approximately $15 million in design fees. Responsibilities include contract administration, proposal development, task authorization management, project planning, resource allocation, subconsultant coordination, client reporting, and workload management. Provides senior mechanical engineering oversight, schedule monitoring, and technical leadership for hundreds of active and completed facility, infrastructure, and utility system projects.
University at Albany – Engineering Services Term Contracts
Program Manager and primary client representative for consecutive engineering services term contracts with the University at Albany. Responsible for proposal development, scope definition, contract administration, project planning, resource allocation, subconsultant management, and multidisciplinary team coordination for campus mechanical engineering projects. Collaborates with university stakeholders to establish project requirements, develop technical approaches, and provide senior engineering oversight. Managed engineering services supporting HVAC, utility infrastructure, and central plant improvement projects with a cumulative value of approximately $3 million in professional services over a ten-year period.
Capital District Transportation Authority – Engineering Services Term Contract
Program Manager and primary client representative for engineering services contracts with CDTA. Responsible for contract administration, proposal development, scope definition, project staffing, subconsultant management, technical planning, and client coordination for mechanical engineering projects at transit operations facilities and administrative buildings. Provides senior mechanical engineering oversight, project performance monitoring, and technical leadership throughout project execution. Managed engineering services supporting HVAC system upgrades and building infrastructure improvements with a cumulative value of approximately $2 million in professional services.
