Representative Projects

Chavez and Tubman Halls with East Side Dining – SUNY Stony Brook - Stony Brook, NY

John led the mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design services for this 760-bed residential and dining complex. The $100M project features an energy-efficient hydronic valance system supported by a 1,000-ton central chilled water plant and the campus high-temperature hot water (HTHW) network, achieving a LEED Silver certification.

Kingston Schools 2nd Century Initiative – Kingston, NY

John provided HVAC and plumbing design for a large $137M campus modernization project at Kingston High School, integrating active chilled beam systems, displacement ventilation in interior spaces, and dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS) with energy recovery to minimize heating and cooling loads across the campus.

State Quad and Indigenous Quad Dining Hall Renovations – University at Albany, NY

John managed the mechanical and plumbing $20.8M gut renovation of two primary residential dining facilities, addressing demanding thermal requirements for high-volume institutional kitchens and market-style dining, including new kitchen exhaust hoods, makeup air strategies, and variable-air-volume (VAV) air handling.

Private Student Apartments - 1385 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY

John led the mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design services for this 322-bed, 106-unit student housing development, utilizing high-efficiency gas-fired furnaces with direct-expansion cooling for each unit. The design includes a below-grade parking garage, fitness center, and individual study spaces.

Capital Improvement Project – Stillwater Central School District – Stillwater, NY

John led the mechanical and plumbing design services for this $21.7M district-wide mechanical and electrical upgrades across multiple school buildings. The project included HVAC replacements, ventilation improvements in classrooms, plumbing system upgrades, and lighting modernization to improve energy performance and building reliability.

J. Watson Bailey Middle School Improvements – Kingston, NY

Mechanical system modernization project replacing aging classroom unit ventilators with VRF heat pump systems and energy recovery ventilators. The work included electrical upgrades for new equipment, plumbing modifications supporting HVAC systems, and lighting improvements throughout renovated areas of the school.

Duanesburg Central School District Capital Project – Duanesburg, NY

Mechanical engineering design for the $28M district capital improvement program including building additions and renovations. The project included HVAC system upgrades, plumbing improvements, electrical infrastructure modernization, and campus mechanical system improvements supporting long-term school operations.
